“Georgia begins to cover the energy dept to Azerbaijan from 13 December 2005,” Saleh Mammadov, the chief engineer of Azerenerji JSC, told Trend.
According to Mammadov, the Company is holding preparations. “Georgia intends to repay the debt as power and we expect to receive around 1-1,2m KW/Hour per day via the 330kV Gardabani electricity transmission line. If the work continues under the schedule, the debt will be covered in January 2006,” he added.
The $17m debt accumulated from 1992 to 1994.
