Azerbaijan, Baku, 15 November / corr Trend S. Babayeva / From January to October 2008 Azerbaijan Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies provided over 80,000 houses with telephone lines, the department said on November 14.
Generally, the number of applied telephone numbers has made up 81,850 during this period. Thus 46,298 of them fell on Aztelecom and 32, 552 on Baktelecom.
According to the government forecasts, by 2011 the number of telephone sets per 100 people will go up to 19.8 as compared to the current 15.
