Azerbaijan sees fall in number of phishing attacks

In March 2018, the number of phishing attacks in Azerbaijan’s segment of Internet decreased by 0.5 percent compared to February 2018, according to Netcraft analytical company’s report.

The report said that one phishing attack productive for scammers accounted for 555 sites in the .az domain in Azerbaijan, which accounts for 0.18 percent of all number of online resources registered in the .az domain (about 30,100 sites), according to the report.

The analysis is based on the Netcraft Toolbar program, which is a plug-in for browsers. The program notifies users of a potentially dangerous Internet resources and prevention of a phishing attack.

According to Netcraft, one phishing attack accounted for 283 sites in Ukraine, 320 sites – in Uzbekistan, 488 sites – in Russia, 563 sites – in Kyrgyzstan, 719 sites – in Belarus, 263 sites – in Armenia, 327 sites – in Kazakhstan, 286 sites - in Georgia.
