Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Babayeva / US-Azerbaijan Joint Venture CATEL (Caspian American Telecommunications, LLC), which provides mobile communication services at CDMA 2000 standards, is considering the possibility of assembling its telephones in Azerbaijan with CDMA standards (Code Division Multiple Access), the company's Director General, Sadig Humbatov, said. According to Mr. Humbatov, presently the company is seeking agreements on the next import consignment of telephones into the Country.
"Presently there are nearly 60 kinds of CDMA telephones in Azerbaijan, but it's not as many as GSM telephones. Therefore, we are planning to assemble the telephones in Azerbaijan," he said.
