BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 23. Russia and Turkmenistan are discussing a joint transport project - the construction of a highway along the eastern coast of the Caspian Sea, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.
This was stated by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin at the Turkmen-Russian business forum, which was held in the capital of Turkmenistan Ashgabat on January 19 through 20.
According to him, at the moment one of the promising joint projects between Turkmenistan and Russia that is currently being discussed is the construction of a highway along the eastern coast of the Caspian Sea.
At the same time, Mishustin stressed that special importance is attached to the formation of international transport routes, and also added that, in particular, the countries are working on the development of the International North–South Transport Corridor and its full capacity.
Following the results of this forum, Turkmenistan and Russia signed 20 bilateral documents in the field of transport and logistics totaling over $2 billion.
