Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said that "forming a contact group by some impartial countries and temporary ceasefire" are two important put on the table in the consultative meeting on Syria in Tehran, IRNA reported.

He made the remarks at a press conference among reporters held after consultative meeting on Syria in Tehran's Azadi Hotel on Thursday.

Salehi noted that some members of Syria's opposition have expressed their readiness to take part in a meeting to be held on Syria in Tehran.

Representatives of about 30 countries attended the consultative meeting on Syria.

"One of the customary methods in international transactions at the time such crises occur is to form a contact group by some impartial groups in order to administer the warring sides and also pave the way for interaction and understanding," the foreign minister noted.

Referring to the fact that realization of ceasefire and forming contact group for administering the warring sides in Syria needs further consultations, Salehi pointed out that "we are waiting to see which countries are interested in forming contact group."

The foreign minister noted that it should be acted in a way as to make the solutions effective for resolving the Syria's crisis.

He said that if the Syrian crisis continues the extremism will surely increase in the region despite the allegations by the West that it is trying to curb extremism in the region.
