Iranian trucks will be exempt from paying road taxes in Azerbaijan.
Iran’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohsen Pak Ayeen told reporters in Baku that Iranian trucks will be excluded from paying road use taxes in Azerbaijan over the next three years, if they unload their consignments at Astara train station.
The envoy said that Head of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC Javid Gurbanov has recently briefed him on the issue through a letter.
Pak Ayeen said that the letter reads that according to the latest amendments to the tax code of Azerbaijan foreign trucks will be exempt from paying road use tax for three years.
According to the ambassador, before adopting the new amendments Iranian trucks crossing through Azerbaijan had to pay $320 as road use tax.
