Iran’s half-year non-oil GDP growth at 4.5%

Iran’s non-oil GDP growth stood at 4.5 percent during the first half of the current fiscal year (started on March 21, 2016), government spokesman Mohammad Bagher Nobakht said Jan. 3.

He added that Iran’s GDP reached 6.5 percent, IRNA reported.

“The GDP growth in agriculture, industry and service sectors stood at 6 percent, 9.1 percent and 5 percent, respectively,” he added.

According to Nobakht, the shares of oil, agriculture and industry sectors in the country’s GDP are 4.7 percent, 13 percent and 20 percent, respectively.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) made a statement last month, predicting a 6.6-percent economic growth for Iran in the current fiscal year.
