Azerbaijani president increases salaries of employees of scientific institutions

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an order Feb. 28 to increase the salaries of employees of scientific institutions and organizations financed through the state budget.

According to the order, monthly salaries of employees working in scientific institutions and organizations financed through the state budget, set upon unified salary scale, will be increased by an average of 10 percent from March 1, 2018 to further strengthen the social protection of employees of scientific institutions and organizations financed through the state budget and state care for them.

Azerbaijan preparing new laws on investments, innovations

Azerbaijan is developing new laws on investments and innovations, Elmir Valizada, deputy minister of transport, communications and high technologies of Azerbaijan, said at the Microsoft Innovation Forum in Baku Feb. 28.

Valizada said innovative development for the country is the highest priority and it is especially important that business and youth are connected to this process.

"As this process becomes massive, the development of Azerbaijan will grow at an even faster pace. Azerbaijan has great potential in this area, and the country can achieve significant success in this area," noted the deputy minister.

Azerbaijan has gained certain success in this sphere, according to him.

"Firstly, it can be noted that the innovation policy in the country has a legal basis, which creates an opportunity for attracting investments to Azerbaijan in many areas, including ICT," he said.

A new investment law is being developed that will meet all modern requirements and create the necessary conditions for operating in Azerbaijan, Valizada noted.

"Along with this, Azerbaijan also prepares laws on innovation, and we believe that the new legislation on investments and innovations will contribute to the country's innovative development," the deputy minister added.

Azerbaijani president increases salaries of healthcare workers

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an order March 1 to increase the salaries of healthcare workers.

According to the order, the monthly salary of employees of healthcare institutions, financed through the state budget, set upon the Single Tariff Scale, will be increased by 10 percent from March 1, 2018.

Ilham Aliyev increases salaries of social security employees

Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev has signed an order to increase salaries of employees working in social security institutions.

In order to further strengthen the social protection and increase state care for employees working in social security institutions, the employees' salaries set in line with the Single Tariff Scale and financed from the state budget, will be increased by an average of 10 percent starting from March 1, 2018.

Azerbaijani president approves agreement on military co-op with Moldova

Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree approving an agreement on military cooperation between the governments of Azerbaijan and Moldova.

The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan is charged with ensuring the implementation of the agreement after its entry into force.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should inform the Moldovan government on the implementation of the necessary domestic procedures in connection with the agreement's entry into force.

The agreement on military cooperation between the two countries was signed in Chisinau on April 24 and in Baku on June 12, 2017.
