Jordan on Tuesday expressed its rejection over targeting civilians in Libya and using warplanes and heavy artillery against demonstrators as circulated in the media.

Jordan on Tuesday expressed its rejection over targeting civilians in Libya and using warplanes and heavy artillery against demonstrators as circulated in the media.

In a statement to state-run Petra news agency, Foreign Ministry Official Spokesman, Mohammad Al Kayed stressed that the shedding the Libyan people blood must stop immediately, adding that such acts and practices against civilians constitute a gross violation of international humanitarian law and human rights.

He urged the Libyan authorities to exercise highest degrees of self-restraint when dealing with the current situation and preserve the lives and dignity of the Libyan people and other nationals living in the country.

Jordan , Al Kayed said, will take part in any meeting for the Arab League Council on any level to discuss Libya.
