An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale jolted West Papua in eastern parts of Indonesia on Wednesday, the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency reported here.
Powerful quake hits eastern Indonesia

An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale jolted West Papua in eastern parts of Indonesia on Wednesday, the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency reported here, Xinhua reported.
  
The quake struck at 18:18 p.m. Jakarta time (1118 GMT) with epicenter at 106 southeast Kaimana town of West Papua province, and with the depth at 50 kilometers under sea bed, an official of the agency who gave the name Apprilianto told Xinhua.
  
The USGS reported on its website that the quake was measured stronger at 6.1 magnitude with the depth at 29.1 kilometers below the sea bed.
  
Apprilianto said that the intensity of the quake was felt at 3 to 4 MMI (Modified Mercally Intensity) at the Kaimana town, 2 to 3 MMI at Nabire town and 2 MMI at Timika town of the province.  No casualties have been reported so far.
