Turkey bombards IS positions in northern Syria
Turkish artillery fired on Daesh ("Islamic State") positions in Syria on Saturday, Anadolu agency reported.
Units based in Kilis province fired at targets around Azaz, a town around 5 kilometers (3 miles) to the south of the border, the source said on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.
The source did not identify any particular threat leading up to the bombardment or say what targets were hit.
On Tuesday, a woman and child were killed when rockets fired from Syria landed in Kilis.
Later on Saturday, two rockets fired from Syria landed close to an army barracks, police headquarters and court house in Kilis. There were no immediate reports of casualties.
