An earthquake measuring 3.9 on the Richter scale jolted the Turkish southeastern province of Bingel, Turkish Milliyet newspaper reported on May 13.

Bogazici University Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute said the earthquake occurred at 05:14 local time on May 13 and caused panic among the local population.

There are no victims or destruction, according to preliminary data.
