Iran Helicopter Company has proposed to launch a helicopter taxi service across the country.

Seyed Mahmoud Azin, the managing director of Iran Helicopter Company said that the cost of flights will be significant, so just one company won't be able to afford the costs, Iran's IRNA News Agency reported on Dec. 21.

"We need to station 30 choppers in different cities in order to get to the location in less than an hour," he explained.

Traffic congestion is one of the main problems of Iranian capital, Tehran, and several other big cities. Also there are several far villages and small cities that need a faster transportation system in case of emergency.
