Trend:

Ankara expects a meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to be held, probably in Russia, in 2015, the Ambassador of Turkey to Russia Umit Yardim said.

"A high level meeting was held in Turkey in 2014 and such a meeting will be held in 2015 as well," the ambassador told reporters on Feb. 3, RIA Novosti reported.

Putin and Erdogan met in Ankara on December 1, 2014. The one-on-one meeting of the two presidents lasted almost three times longer than expected. Within almost three hours, the sides discussed the attitudes towards the settlement of the situation in Syria and the Ukrainian crisis.

The construction of a new gas pipeline through the Black Sea was declared during Putin's visit to Turkey. The new pipeline will be constructed instead of the South Stream gas pipeline.
