The Azerbaijani Youth and Sports Ministry organized information seminars for the youth, who will vote in the parliamentary elections for the first time, in the Baku Pedagogical Colleague named after M.A.Sabir.

The Azerbaijani Youth and Sports Ministry organized information seminars for the youth, who will vote in the parliamentary elections for the first time, in the Baku Pedagogical Colleague named after M.A.Sabir. 

Speaking at the event, Yasamal District Youth and Sports Department Director Ilham Safarov said 1,170 people will vote in the upcoming parliamentary elections for the first time. He expressed hope that the youth will actively participate in the 2010 parliamentary elections.

The handbooks published by the ministry for young people, who will vote in the parliamentary elections for the first time, were distributed among the participants.

The handbook reflects the speeches by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, history, the period of formation, activity, international contacts of the Azerbaijani Parliament and the Azerbaijani parliamentary system, the principles of the Parliament, the excerpts from the Azerbaijani Constitution and Electoral Code of the Azerbaijan Republic.

16th Yasamal District Election Commission Head Elchin Yusifov informed the youth about the electoral legislation. He called on them to use their right of voting.  

The parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are scheduled for November 7, 2010. Previous parliamentary elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 constituencies.
