The Azerbaijani Parliament amended a number of laws on holding investigation in military units by professional lawyers.
The parliament adopted a draft law on amendments to "Azerbaijani Armed Forces Discipline Regulations", "Garrison and Guard Duty Regulations of the Armed Forces of Republic of Azerbaijan" and "Interior Duty Regulations of the Armed Forces of Republic of Azerbaijan".
"Military lawyers carried out investigation in the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry's military units and unprofessional approach was found in some cases," the Azerbaijani Parliamentary Deputy Speaker Ziyafat Asgarov said.
Hence, professional lawyers will hold investigation on crimes taking place in the territories of military units, in accordance with the newly adopted amendments.
MP Panah Huseyn said amendments will create conditions to ensure supremacy of law in Azerbaijan.
