Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder of the International Dialogue for Environmental Action, IDEA, Leyla Aliyeva, who is in New York to receive the "Key to Life" Award of the Children`s Cancer & Blood Foundation (CCBF) held several meetings in New York on Wednesday.
Leyla Aliyeva visited the editorial office of the United State`s authoritative magazine "Interview" on Wednesday.
She met with owner and chairman of Brant Publications, Inc Peter M. Brant and editor-in-chief of "Interview" magazine Christopher Bollen.
Peter M. Brant informed Leyla Aliyeva on the history and topics of the magazine.
In her turn, Leyla Aliyeva invited the editorial staff of the magazine to be curious about Azerbaijan. She expressed her assurance that the readers of the popular magazine will get new information on Azerbaijan`s art, music and fashion.
"Interview" is an American magazine with the nickname The Crystal Ball Of Pop. It was founded in late 1969 by artist Andy Warhol. The magazine features intimate conversations among some of the world`s biggest celebrities, artists, musicians, and creative thinkers.
The same day Leyla Aliyeva visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Senior research associate in the Department of Islamic culture at the museum Maryam Ekhtiar informed Leyla Aliyeva on the exhibition called "Art of Islamic world", opened on Tuesday after reconstruction.
Leyla Aliyeva familiarized herself with new gallery featuring 1,200 breathtaking works of the Art of the Arab Lands, Turkey, Iran, Central Asia, and South Asia.
The sides discussed cooperation prospects with Metropolitan museum and exchanged views on popularization of Azerbaijani art at the museum.
Leyla Aliyeva also held a meeting with Azerbaijani living in New York, editor-in-chief of New York-based Russian language newspaper "Noviy Rubezh" ("New Frontier") and a member of Azerbaijan Artists` Union Nobert Yevdayev.
Nobert Yevdayev thanked Leyla Aliyeva and presented her two painting works from his own collection to deliver to the art museums of Azerbaijan.
The author of the works "Motherhood" and '"Abstract Composition" is artist Nahum Tschacbasov with Baku origin.
Nahum Tschacbasov`s works include to the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Modern Art Museum, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and other art galleries of the US.
"Motherhood" and "Abstract Composition" will be demonstrated in the Azerbaijan State Museum of Art named after Rustam Mustafayev and Baku Museum of Modern Art respectively.
