Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili introduces new chief of the Joint Staff of Armed Forces Colonel Irakli Dzneladze at the Defence Ministry on Wednesday.

Dzneladze was appointed to the post as a result of consultations between the President and the Defense Minister.

Colonel Irakli Dzneladze has been serving in the Armed Forces of Georgia for 20 years. In the last period he was the military attaché of Georgia to Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus, previously held various positions at the Joint Staff.

Chief of the Joint Staff is presented by the Defense Minister and appointed by the President in accordance with the regulations of the Joint Staff of Georgian Armed Forces.
