Over 70 checkpoints will be in Azerbaijan by the end of 2006 with account for construction operations performed, said Elchin Guliyev, chief of State Border Guard Service, Trend reports with reference to ATV channel.
Guliyev said the checkpoints are built mainly on the north an northwest of the republic.
By the end of 2006 nearly 250 officers and soldiers passing their service in said areas will be provided with apartments. В"These changes are pertaining Caspian Sea guard as well. We are now creating onshore bases, to outnumber 20. Alongside, we are going to purchase boats and vesselsВ", said Guliyev.
On July 31 officials of State Border Guard Service came to the Honorary Funeral and Martyrs Alley on the occasion of fourth anniversary of the service establishment.
