Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend K.Zarbaliyeva / Safa Mirzayev, the Head of the Administration of the Azerbaijani Parliament, stated to a news conference on 21 June that MP Huseyn Abdullyev has been deprived of his mandate.
Mirzayev referred to the Elections Code which states that an MP is deprived of his mandate in the case that he is sentenced in court. "Since the sentence has been passed with respect to Abdullayev, and he did not make an appeal regarding the court sentence, his MP mandate is cancelled automatically," he added.
