Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr E. Huseynli / There are extremist groups in Azerbaijan trying to create a confrontation among religions. "It is impossible to generate tensions among religions practiced in Azerbaijan, to break religious traditions," the chairman of the Azerbaijani State Committee on Work with Religious Organizations Hidayat Orujev said at a conference ' Azerbaijan - an Example of Tolerance' dated to the International Day of Tolerance on 16 November.
According to Orujev, religious communities in Azerbaijan along with the State should carry out educative work in order to prevent functioning of radical extremist groups in the country. In this respect religious confessions should fight jointly.
Azerbaijan offers equal conditions to all religions. The country with different religious groups has no discrimination and practices tolerance, Orujev said.
