Azerbaijan, Baku, 31 March / corr. Trend K. Zarbaliyeva/ The lawyer of Etimad Ismayilov, son of MP Ilyas Ismayilov, the head of Adalat party has been dismissed from the defense of his client.
The lawyer Jarulla Ramazanov said to Trend by telephone from Moscow that he has appealed to the Office of Public Prosecutor of Russia to cancel the decision of his dismissal from defense and to put the case into the execution of the Russian Office of Public Prosecutor.
The Defense opposes holding the trial in the Chelyabinsk district court and met with the officials of Federal Security Service (FSS) and Russian Prosecutor's Office to discuss the current situation on 31 March.
On 27 March, the Chelyabinsk district court sentenced Ismayilov to two months imprisonment. He was accused of fraud and money laundry.
The lawyer said he is protecting the rights of two other persons arrested in connection with the same case. The investigation has attributed his dismissal from the defense to this fact. "It contradicts the law and my dismissal from the defense pursues political purposes.
Ismayilov was detained on 25 March by FSS in Domodedov Airport while returning to Moscow from Baku.
Ismayilov is the owner of Eurasia C JSC.
