Azerbaijan, Baku, 19 June / corr. Trend News R.Ergun / Ganclarbirliyi, the Azerbaijani football club, is still unprepared to play neither in the first division nor premier league.
"I was dismissed from Ganclarbirliyi. The probability of the team's further activities is 90%. There are no prospects for its activity. Even if we play in the premier league, we cannot keep footballers and will turn to the first division. Therefore, I consider this work meaningless," Ilgar Nuriyev, the president of Ganclarbirliyi, told Trend on 19 June.
The club Ganclarbirliyi, representing the Sumgayit city, was established 5 years ago. Due to unsuccessful performance in the last season of the Azerbaijani Premier League, the team had to go to the first division.
Nuryiev said that the club would continue its work if they find a sponsor for Ganclarbirliyi. "We met with the head of the Sumgayit City Administration with this respect, whilst it was unsuccessful.
A while ago fans of Ganclarbirliyi applied to Rovnag Abdullayev, the president of the Azerbaijani Football Federation Association, with request to allow the club to continue its performance in the premier league.
