Roughly 2159 foreigners and stateless persons have violated the requirements of administrative law on the rules of temporary and permanent residence in Azerbaijan in August 2012, the State Migration Service (SMS) said.
Residence of 268 foreigners in Azerbaijan were legalized after being subjected to fines, it was decided to expel 1724 foreigners from the country within 48 hours in accordance with the requirements of the Code of Administrative Offences, 167 foreigners were deported from the country administratively.
SMS received 4870 applications from foreigners and stateless persons on the extension of temporary stay in the country for permanent or temporary residence, obtaining, deprivation and restoration of citizenship, refugee status, as well as the receipt of an individual permit in order to work or renewal of the permit during the period.
All appeals were considered on an individual basis in accordance with the law, appropriate decisions were taken on them.
