The Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office filed a criminal case over a video on the member of the Milli Majlis, Guler Ahmadova and former rector of Azerbaijan International University Elshad Abdullayev, the Prosecutor General's Office said on Friday.
The video shows that they were discussing a bribe to a large amount.
Due to the fraud in the aforementioned audio and video recordings, which is embezzlement through breach of confidence, a criminal case has been filed under Art. 178.3.2 of the Criminal Code of the Azerbaijan Republic (embezzlement through breach of confidence with causing damage in the large size). This relates to the collected materials for a full, complete and objective examination of the information and given the necessity for immediate investigation and numerous investigative and operational measures.
A forensic portrait and expert examination of the video and audio recordings have been scheduled for the case. The relevant authorities have been instructed that the necessary requests and operational instructions have been given.
At present, questioning and other necessary investigatory activities are underway on the case.
The public will be informed later about the course of the investigation.
