Ministry of health of Azerbaijan talks on import of haemophilia medications

Innovations and Supply center with the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan is talking with foreign countries on import of medications for haemophilia-infected people, Trend reports with reference to the Ministrys news release issued April 14.

The release says over 1,000 people in Azerbaijan are suffering from haemophilia today.

April 17 is recognized as the World Day of haemophilia-ill people. Azerbaijans government pays special attention to such people. On May 3, 2005 head of state Ilham Aliyev has signed the Law В"Governmental care of haemophilia- and thalassemia-infected peopleВ". In January 2006 the Cabinet of Ministers of the country has approved the Heritable diseases haemophilia and thalassemia state program drawn by the Ministry of Health.

В"At the moment the ministry is working on execution of this program, including import of medications for people suffering from these deceasesВ", - the news release states.
