Türkiye reveals total volume of cargo shipment via local ports for September 2022

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 17. Turkish ports transshipped 31 million tons of cargo in September 2022, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye told TurkicWorld, Trend reports.

According to the ministry, in the reporting month, ships under the flag of Türkiye delivered 2.2 million tons of cargo, and ships under the flags of other countries – more than 29.7 million tons to the ports.

Meanwhile, 6.6 million tons of transit cargo were delivered to the Turkish ports, the ministry said.

The ports of Türkiye received 269.5 million tons of cargo from January through September 2022.

During the specified period, cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Türkiye through local ports amounted to 21.3 million tons, while by ships under the flags of other countries – 275.2 million tons, the ministry noted.

Turkish ports handled 60.6 million tons of transit cargo in the first nine months of this year.

The ports of Türkiye handled 386.3 million tons of cargo in 2021.

Cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Türkiye amounted to 29.9 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries - 356.3 million tons last year.

Besides, Turkish ports handled 78 million tons of transit cargo in 2021.
