BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 19. The average monthly nominal wage of hired workers in Azerbaijan grew by 11.2 percent from January through February 2023 compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 854.5 ($501.9), the State Statistics Committee told Trend.

The wage in the oil and gas sector equaled 3,110 manat ($1,826), and in the non-oil and gas sector – 810.9 manat ($476.3). The wages of employees of state-owned enterprises stood at 811.3 manat ($476.6), and those of private enterprises – at 903.1 manat ($530.6).

The highest wages were recorded among workers in the mining sector, in the fields of insurance and finance, information, and communications, as well as among those engaged in scientific and technical activities.

The average monthly nominal wage of hired workers in Azerbaijan increased by 14.7 percent in 2022 compared to 2021 and amounted to 839.4 manat ($493.9).
