Over 560 kg of expired products removed from sale in Azerbaijan

The State Supervision Service on Consumer market at the Azerbaijani Economic Development Ministry removed over 560 kilogram of the expired products from retail sale points during the monitoring, the ministry said today.

Monitoring carried out in the Surakhani district of Baku, as well as in the Sumgayit city of Azerbaijan. The expired food products include sausages, confectionery products, vegetable oils, natural juices, beer, milk and milk products, mayonnaise, and more.

The employees of the service revealed 165 kilograms of expired food at the Sumgait markets and 395 kilos of sausages, eggs, cheese, butter, sour cream, shelf life expired by one month to two years ago in the Amirjan village of the Surakhani district.

Protocols on administrative violations have been complied on enterprises and individuals.

The State Supervision Service on Consumer market recommends consumers to pay attention to expiry dates and labels of products.

On Dec. 5, the official exchange rate is 0.8026 manat to $1.
