The volume of money transfers between Uzbekistan and Russia by individuals rose by 39.1 percent to $394 million in 1Q17 as compared to the same period of 2016, according to the Central Bank of Russia.
Meanwhile, the volume of money transfers from Russia to Uzbekistan totaled $377 million in January-March 2017, 47.1 percent more than a year before.
The volume of money transfers from Uzbekistan to Russia decreased by 37 percent to $17 million in the period.
The average amount of one transfer from Russia to Uzbekistan was $398 in the period as compared to $335 a year before (an increase of 18.8 percent).
The average amount of one transfer from Uzbekistan to Russia was $658 as compared to $1,251 (a decrease by 47.4 percent).
In 2016, the volume of money transfers between Uzbekistan and Russia decreased by 3 percent to $1.975 billion as compared to 2015, as transfers from Russia to Uzbekistan decreased by 20.3 percent to $1.888 billion and from Uzbekistan to Russia by 75.6 percent to $87 million.
