Kazakh plant intends to up output of passenger cars

The Astana-based "Tulpar-Talgo" plant intends to produce more than 90 passenger cars in 2018.

"Over the past year 62 passenger cars have been produced. This year, we plan to manufacture 91 passenger cars. The plant employs 183 people, " Plant's Production Director Vladimir Kiselev said during the visit of deputies of the Kazakh Parliament to the plant, Kazinform reports.

Until 2023 the plant keens to produce 603 passenger cars. "We closed one contract, according to which we manufactured 436 passenger cars from 2012 to 2015. Since 2015 we have a new contract, we produce cars with a wide body. We will manufacture 603 such cars until 2023. To date, 178 of them have already been produced," he noted.

Kiselev said that the format of production and technology in the plant will not be changed in the near future.

"We have Spanish Talgo production technology, and we do not step back from it. The wagons correspond to certification according to their standards," he stressed.

The plant for the production of high-speed passenger cars "Tulpar-Talgo", which has no analogues in the CIS, was built in 2011.

The plant was built with the joint cooperation of Kazakhstan Railways JSC and the Spanish company Patentes Talgo.
