Russia ranks second in Georgia’s trade turnover

Russia ranks second in Georgia’s commodity circulation, Trend reports referring to Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).

The foreign trade turnover between Georgia and Russia for seven months of 2019 amounted to more than $790 million, which is 11.2 percent of the total trade turnover of Georgia.

During the reporting period, Georgia exported products worth $303.813 million to the Russian market, which is 14.5 percent of the total exports. The largest share of the exports accounted to ferroalloys - $85.9 million, wine - $67.7 million, mineral waters - $36.1 million, centrifuges - $19 million, other alcoholic beverages - $16.6 million.

For seven months of 2019, Georgia imported products worth $486.348 million from Russia, which is 9.8 percent of the total imports. Georgia imported oil and oil products worth $100.7 million, wheat worth $37.8 million, coke and semi-coke from coal worth $17.2 million, sunflower oil worth $15.9 million and oil gas and gaseous hydrocarbons worth $15.9 million from Russia.

Georgia's foreign trade turnover in January-July 2019 amounted to $7,065.3 million, which is 0.2 percent lower compared to the same period last year.
