Kazakhstan and Turkey agreed on cooperation for an amount of $300 million, Trend reports with reference to the press office of Baiterek National Managing Holding JSC.
The corresponding agreement was signed by the Chairman of the Management Board of Baiterek Aidar Arifkhanov and the Chief Executive Officer of Istanbul Public-Private Partnership Center of Excellence (Istanbul PPPCoE) Eyüp Aydın during the Kazakh-Turkish Business Forum, held in Turkey’s Istanbul.
“We are talking about identification of private public partnership (PPP) projects in Kazakhstan that may be of interest to Turkish companies. In particular, we have agreed on the implementation of projects that pose mutual interest in the field of PPP, development of joint feasibility studies, reviewing investment opportunities, as well as attracting investors. Our subsidiary, Kazakhstan Project Preparation Fund LLP, will be engaged in the fulfillment of the agreement,” Arifkhanov said.
In addition, the agreement envisages exchange of information on housing construction, implementation of state housing and mortgage programs, as well as creation of comfortable urban conditions for the population.
In his turn, Eyüp Aydın noted that the PPPCoE closely cooperates with Turkish companies which have experience in PPP, and is planning to simplify and accelerate the activities of Turkish private companies, especially in the PPP area, in Kazakhstan.
“We are expecting that this will simplify investing in Kazakhstan,” he said.
Baiterek National Managing Holding JSC is the key institution of the Kazakhstan’s government that ensures the implementation of the objectives for the sustainable development of the economy of Kazakhstan through its diversification, support for innovation, export development, increase in labor productivity.
Istanbul PPPCoE was established in 2015 and is an association that offers consulting services in the PPP field and provides trainings to build the PPP human resources capacity.
