Sugar export from Azerbaijan increases by nearly 50%

From January through September 2019, Azerbaijan exported goods worth $14.4 billion, Trend reports Nov. 15 referring to Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee.

Some 28.5 percent of exports account for Italy, 14.8 percent for Turkey, 7.2 percent for Israel, 5.5 percent for India, 4.9 percent for Germany, 4.7 percent for China, 3.6 percent for Spain, 3.4 percent for Russia, 3 percent for France, 2.9 percent for the Czech Republic, 2.8 percent for Georgia, 2.6 percent for Portugal, 1.9 percent for Ukraine and 11.8 percent for other countries.

In the field of non-oil production, less than a third of the total production volume was sent to Russia (33 percent). Some 21.5 percent of the total production volume was exported to Turkey, 8.9 percent to Switzerland, 8.7 percent to Georgia, 2.4 percent to Italy, 2.3 percent to Ukraine, 2.3 percent to Greece, 2.2 percent to China, 1.5 percent to Iran and 1.4 percent to the Netherlands.

Fresh fruit exports increased by 21.5 percent compared to the same period of 2018, sugar - by 49.5 percent, tobacco - two times, fruit and vegetable juices - by 33.7 percent, tea - by 7 percent, margarine and other nutritious mixtures - by 49.6 percent, cotton fiber - by 47.2 percent, cotton yarn - by 38.1 percent, raw aluminum - by 24.1 percent, polyethylene – by 2.5 percent, bentonite clay - by 17.2 percent.

Exports of fresh vegetables decreased by 3 percent, potatoes - by 7.2 percent, vegetable oils - by 17.2 percent, canned fruits and vegetables - by 0.4 percent, wines and grape must - by 18.7 percent, semi-finished products form ferrous metals - by 3.6 percent, pipes from ferrous metals - by 81.9 percent.
