Iran’s budget to be $114B at most

Iran’s budget next year (from March 21, 2020, to March 21, 2021) will be 4.8 quadrillion rials (about $114 billion) at the most, Spokesperson for the Iranian Government Ali Rabiei said, Trend reports citing IRIB.

Rabiei noted that the budget envisages financial assistance of $30 billion for the public and private sectors.

The spokesperson added that $10.5 billion is to be allocated to ensure the supply of essential products, given the exchange rate of $1/42,000 rials.

“Next year’s budget envisages 600 trillion rials (about $14.2 billion) for construction projects,” Rabiei said.

The spokesperson added that the tax discount for employees has been increased from 27.5 million rials (about $654) to 30 million rials (about $714).

The Iranian Cabinet of Ministers has approved the budget for the next Iranian year. Next year’s budget will be approved by the Iranian parliament after consideration.
