Work underway to launch industrial enterprises in Iran’s Qom Province

Work is underway to launch 407 industrial enterprises on the manufacturing of various goods in the Qom Province (northern Iran), Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Qom Province Mahmoud Sijani said, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.

Sijani noted that there is a 60-percent progress in the construction of these enterprises and 11,000 people will be employed after the launch of the enterprises.

“So far, 31.4 trillion rials (about $747 million) has been spent on these enterprises. More 24.2 trillion rials (about $ 576 million) is needed to upgrade the enterprises,” he said.

The chairman added that various products, including, steel and iron products, rubber products, various pipes, paper, solar panels, artificial fibers, food products, medical and cellulose products will be produced with the launch of the enterprises.

Reportedly, a total of 140 industrial enterprises will be put into operation in Qom Province in the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022). About 10 trillion rials (about $238 million) will be spend on these enterprises and 3,500 people will be employed.
