Iran accelerates process of releasing goods from customs - IRICA

The process of releasing goods from Iranian customs has accelerated following the decision of the Iranian government to release imported goods, Director General of Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Mehdi Mirashrafi said, Trend reports citing the administration.

According to Mirashrafi, about 100,000 tons of goods are currently released daily from Iranian customs.

Mirashrafi added that while in the first two months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through May 21, 2021), this figure was 50,000 tons daily.

The director-general noted that 6.1 million tons of essential products worth $3.7 billion have been released from Iranian customs since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021).

“At present, there are 8.3 million tons of goods available in Iranian ports and customs. Of these, 4.5 million tons are essential products," he said.

Reportedly, about two weeks ago, the Iranian Cabinet of Ministers made a decision on the acceleration of the release of essential products.
