The World Bank gave its approval for rendering assistance to Azerbaijan in the implementation of measures in fighting with the bird flu, Avez Alekperov, the Azerbaijani Ministry for Finances, told journalist on Friday, Trend reports. The financial assistance comprises $5m. The bank agreed upon assisting the country at the appeal of the Azerbaijani government and it has enough experience in this direction, which can be profitable for Azerbaijan.
As to use of budget funds on these measures, last year a total of 3.9bn manats has been allocated to the Agriculture Ministry in this respect. In case of necessity of implementing the preventive measures, the Agriculture Ministry and the Education ministry have enough funds in compliance with their estate. There are resources of reserve fund, which cal also be used for the implementation of measures in fighting with bird flu, Alekperov underlined.
