Within the first half-year of 2006, the volume of the trade operations of Azerbaijan with 123 foreign countries was in amount of $5041698.6 thousand. For this period, the export on 1675 types of commodities was realized at $2924059.1 thousand and the amount of the imported goods on 4979 types was $2117639.5, Trend reports
with reference to the statement of the State Customs Service (SCC).
Thus, a positive balance on import-export operations in amount of $806419.6 th. created.
As comprised to the same period of 2005, the volume of export operation has increased by 123.02% ($1612948.2 th.), and import operations by 0.81% ($17028.1 th.). The growth of import caused by the increase of import of different types of equipments, goods of black metallurgy, tobacco goods, grain plants, natural gas and land transport means.
