Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Aliyeva / Over the next four years, the State Railway Department of Azerbaijan (SRDA) will acquire four more electric trains from Russia, said SRDA's Head Engineer, Gurban Nazirov.
This year Azerbaijan has already received two trains from Russia. Last year SRDA purchased four electric trains for $220,000 each. Currently their cost has increased. The trains are acquired through SRDA's own finance. In addition, last year SRDA acquired five new trains from Russia at the expense of the State budget to the amount of AZN 10 mln.
Currently SRDA uses 113 electric trains (92 for transportation of cargo and 21for passengers).
