New director general of Kazakhstan JSC "Exploration Production KazMunaiGas has been appointed. He is Kenzhebek Ibrashi, company's press service said.
"The Board of Directors approved a request from KMG Director General Askar Balzhanov about resignation from his post. New head of the company will take office on June 1, 2009", the press service said.
Kenzhebek Ibrashi before that served as the Vice-President of KazMunaiGas.
KazMunaiGas is one of the three leaders for volume of oil production in Kazakhstan. Company's oil production makes up 9.4 million tons (240,000 barrels per day) in 2008, taking into account the shares in Kazgermunai and CCEL ( "Karazhanbasmunai). Proved and probable reserves stood at 241 million tons (1.8 billion barrels) at the end of 2008, while taking into account shares in affiliated companies - more than 2.1 billion barrels. The company's shares went through on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange, while global depositary receipts - on the London Stock Exchange. During the IPO in September 2006, the company has attracted more than 2 billion U.S. dollars.
