In 2010 the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) sold 8.1 billion cubic meters of gold both on the domestic market and for export, the Azerbaijani government's 2010 report says.
About 6.97 billion cubic meters worth 466.5 million manat o the total volume of gas sold by SOCAR last year accounted for the domestic market. SOCAR's export operations accounted for about 1.14 billion cubic meters worth 210.6 million manat.
About four billion cubic meters of the total amount sold last year on the domestic gas market, was delivered to Azerenergy (electricity production and distribution in Azerbaijan), while about 1.7 billion cubic meters of gas was supplied to the republic's population and about 1.3 billion cubic meters was supplied to other subscribers.
Some 799.7 million cubic meters of gas of the total volume exported by SOCAR in 2010 accounted for Russia, while the remaining 339.2 million cubic meters of gas was supplied to Georgia.
Over 1.9 billion cubic meters of gas was pumped into the Azerbaijani underground gas storage facilities to meet consumers' gas needs in the autumn-winter period of 2010-2011.
