Oil&Gas Materials 11 November 2011 14:09 (UTC +04:00)

Kyrgyzstan began accepting services from the high voltage transmission line Aigul-Tash-Samat 110 kW, Director General of "Kyrgyz National Electric Grids Medetbek Aitkulov said at the board meeting of the Energy Ministry on Friday.

"At present, the Aigul-Tash - Samat transmission line has been completely laid," he said. "The facilities have been accepted by the state and as of today, about 13 bearings were accepted." He added the electric power line will be commissioned in December.

It should be noted that the length of the transmission line is 142 km. The commissioning of the Aigul-Tash - Samat transmission line will enable the avoidance of additional costs to purchase electric power from Tajikistan.

At present, Kyrgyzstan has to buy its electric power from Tajikistan. About 80 per cent of the Batken region is provided with this type of utility. After commissioning the Aigul-Tash line and modernising the Samat sub-station, Batken will become the independent energy region.

The Islamic Development Bank has allocated $11.9 million to construct the transmission line Aigul-Tash-Samat.
