The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has ended repair of Merikem unit refining light benzene, kerosene and diesel fuel distillates at unit N21 of the Baku-based Heydar Aliyev oil refinery, the SOCAR reported on Tuesday.
The repair works covered the cleaning of contractors located at separators Sp-4, Sp-5, and Sp-6. Works were also carried out to enhance diesel distillate refining in order to improve diesel fuel quality.
The SOCAR uses the two Baku-based oil refineries with the combined refining capacity of 20 million tons a year to refine oil it produces from offshore and onshore fields at its own expense.
