703.61 million cubic meters of gas were extracted from the underground gas storages of Azerbaijan from the start of the season, a source from the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) told Trend on Jan.9.

There are 2 underground gas storage facilities in Azerbaijan, Kalmaz and Garadagh.
According to the source, 365 million cubic meters of gas was extracted from Garadagh gas storage, and 338.61 million cubic meters from Kalmaz gas storage.

Currently, the residual amounts of gas in underground storages of the country exceeds 2.74 billion cubic meters, over 1.5 billion cubic meters in Garadagh storage and 1.23 billion cubic meters in Kalmaz storage.

According to the source, currently 19.54 million cubic meters of gas is extracted from the storages daily.
