SOCAR’s Kulevi terminal upgrading its fleet

The Black Sea terminal of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR in Kulevi, Georgia, upgraded the tugboat “SOCAR”, which is a part of its fleet, the terminal’s management told Trend.

Since the commissioning of the Black Sea terminal, the port of Kulevi has received about 2,200 tankers, the deadweight of which ranges within 350,000-115,000 tons.

The terminal’s management added that in October, the tugboat “SOCAR” has left for Turkey for docking in order to update the classification certificates.

The terminal in Georgia’s Kulevi was commissioned in May 2008 and oil products’ transhipment started in June of the same year. The total capacity of the terminal is 10 million tons of oil cargo per year, including three million tons of oil, three million tons of diesel fuel and four million tons of fuel oil.
