Iran may escape dependence on oil revenues, but for this reason, raw materials must be produced domestically, Iranian economist Farshid Bagherian told Trend.

If Iran wants to get rid of dependence on oil revenues, first of all it should stop to implement strict domestic rules because these rules hamper production, he added.

Bagherian added that the governmental support is required for the development of the industry.

For example, Iran imports galvanized sheet metal rolls. If Iran does not import them, small scale industry will not develop, he said.

The state must take different steps in the field of production of raw materials and create the conditions for the private enterprises to show interest and make investments in this sphere, Bagherian added.

In this case, there will be no need to import raw materials as they will be produced domestically, he said.

He added that another solution is the creation of cooperatives.

Bagherian said that the establishment of cooperatives may reduce the banks' activity.
