As of January 1, 2006 fraction of employees under 35 in the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan is 22.4%, Trend reports with reference to SOCARs official homepage.
SOCAR employees of pension age total 12.4%, from which 18.6% are people over 70. Most of them are real professionals, said SOCAR president Rovnag Abdullayev, but in the future they shall be replaced by younger employees, and to solve this question SOCAR is currently executing the staff training program.
Within this program it is suggested to send students to universities of UK France, Germany, Canada, Japan, China, Russia and other countries higher education institutions that are on the worlds top twenty list.
This year 3 persons have been already selected to continue education abroad, they are currently deployed in UK universities at SOCAR cost. Such education is followed with the contract obliging them to work in SOCARs facilities not less than 5 years upon their return home.
