Trend S.Aliyev / The construction works have been fully completed over South Caucasus Pipeline (Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum) which envisages exporting the gas of Azerbaijan to the European markets. "It needs to conduct commissioning and after it, the delivery of the gas to Turkey will begin," said the Head of Gas Operations Department of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), Kamal Abbasov.
SCP will export the gas produced from Shah Deniz field. Presently one well functions on the field and its production equals nearly 5.1 mln c.m of gas. A new well will be put into operation at the end of May and the production will be increased up to 10 mln c.m of gas per day. 8.6 bln cu.m of gas will be produced annually within the Phase 1 of the development project of Shah Deniz. 2.8 bln cu.m of gas will be produced from Shah Deniz in 2007.
